This is a great corded option, this is the one I use for the best results when I'm close to an outlet, it's been a very good sander I would recommend this to a person that is dedicated user of corded tools, it can be easily attached to a dust hose, and has very good ergonomics
Ideal for woodworking, cabinet making, remodeling, and home improvement projects, this belt sander is convenient and powerful, To be used for heavy stock removal, sanding wood floors, and repairing or fine-tuning a woodworking project like large scale woodworking, sanding down slabs or something alike used for more heavy-duty sanding then an orbital or 1/4 sheet sander, which are used for detail work this sander is good for removing large amounts in a small amout of time it has been the industry standard for years. It has variable-speed dial for the user to customize the belt speed to the necessary balance to the amout of wood removal need, (higher speed setting for more removal and lower speed for more controled removal in more sensitive areas) and the quick-release belt-change lever makes belt changes quick and easy but rememberto check the belt some are bi directional and some are mark with arrows orientated to show the belts direction. Then once installed, make sure thr belt is tracking correctly with the tracking nob, (turn the nob to correctly align the belt. The unit is designed for flush sanding up to vertical surfaces on the open wheel side. With a large dust bag that swivels 360-degrees so it can be moved out of the way in tight spaces, although with the amounts of sawdust this produces, it highly recommended to connect it to a vacuum system/dust extractor, for more continuous performance, and less emptying of the bag.
This is a very versatile tool for removing alot of wood at a fast pace, ideal for high-volume production, when you have a bigger area to sand and an orbital/vibration type sander won't do, it's a great tool for the woodworker doing large projects, (i.e) tables, benches, and large furniture, it has a lock-on switch for continuous use, (which reminds me of a Home Improvement episode where Al warns Tim to make sure it's not in the on position, Tim assures Al he knows what he's doing, then plugs in a belt sander and it runs right of the piece of wood used to demonstrate the tool) back to the sander, we've owned this sander for years and have been very happy with it, as such I am currently researching cordless belt sanders, not to replace this one, but for the convenience of the cordless power and in the interest of growing our tool supply, and of course be able to let you know our thoughts on the cordless options as well, so look for that coming soon to the blog.
